Huw Davies’s new study of the 18th- and 19th-century British army published by Yale University Press
We are delighted to announce the publication in November 2022 of A Wandering Army: The Campaigns that Transformed the British Way of War (Yale University Press), by Huw J Davies, reader in early modern military history in the Dept of Defence Studies at King’s College London. This incorporates research Davies carried out in the Georgian papers at Windsor under the auspices of the Georgian Papers programme as a GPP King’s College London summer fellow. Davies is the author of Wellington’s Wars: The Making of a Military Genius and Spying for Wellington: British Military Intelligence in the Peninsular War. His latest book is attracting favourable reviews, and joins the growing stable of publications associated with the project.
